College Fantasy Football championships are won and lost on the waiver wire. Joe Arpasi has identified the players you need to target on this week’s waiver wire that will help give your fantasy team a champion’s edge.
Premium subscribers will have access to hand chosen waiver wire targets from Joe Arpasi’s top selections. The free preview below reviews players that are honorable mention waiver wire targets that did not make Joe’s top selections lists that are featured for premium subscribers.
I highly recommend reviewing the waiver wire targets I have listed below and compare them to the current players on your roster with my CFF Schedule Matcher tool. You can filter the tool down to just the schools you need to look at and see how these waiver wire targets mesh with the schedules of your current roster players.

CFF Schedule Matcher: Week 7
Honorable Mentions
Quarterbacks
Blake Baker (LT) 3% Rostered
- Current Week Match-up Target
- Volume Target
- Playoff Match-Up Target
- Baker had been injured for a month and made a full return last week against Louisiana. In that game he went 32/42 for 319 yards and 3 TD’s. The 3 week average for pass attempts is skewed because he attempted one pass two weeks ago. His upcoming schedule is very juicy and his pass catchers are playing great right now. With so few of full games to review its hard to estimate what his full fantasy value is moving forward right now.
Elijah Brown (Wash) 4% Rostered
- Current Week Match-up Target
- Volume Workload Target
- Brown is a stash and hold waiver wire option that should only be picked up if you can afford to sit him. He has a good match-up with Purdue this week but I would have a hard time starting him right now. The Purdue game is the last good match-up for Washington this season which diminishes Brown’s fantasy value unless you’re in a keeper or C2C league.
Running Backs
TJ Engleman (ECU) 4% Rostered
- Current Week Match-up Target
- Over his last two games Engleman has been red hot, scoring a combined 56.8 fantasy points from 24 carries for 265 yards and 3 TD’s. His workload is low for a RB1 which is a concern, and so is Ashton Gray who’s been injured while Engleman has been on a tear. Gray did receive 5 carries last week but his workload could increase at the cost of Engleman moving forward.
Jaziun Patterson (MSU) 8% Rostered
- Current Week Match-up Target
- Injury has pushed Patterson into the starting RB job and over the last two weeks he has led the team in rushing attempts and yards with 35 carries for 155 yards. Last week against Illinois he reached the end zone three times. What holds back his fantasy value is a lack of good fantasy match-ups remaining on the schedule.
Dominic Knicely (CoCar) 5% Rostered
- Knicely’s role in the offense has grown over the past two games, going from 5 carries to 16, to 25. Last week against Marshall he ran for 169 yards and 1 TD, and had 3 receptions for 42 yards. The remaining schedule is average and it might be hard to find a week where you’ll feel like he is a good play for your starting line up.
Wide Receivers
Mario Sanders (SMiss) 14% Rostered
- Playoff Match-Up Target
- Sanders is on the hottest run he’s had this season. The last two games have seen him get 15 targets for 12 receptions, 171 yards and 4 TD’s. The reason he’s on my honorable mention list is that I don’t see a way that he can maintain scoring 2 TD’s/game like he has been. He’ll continue to be the WR1 in the offense but his fantasy output is bound to regress.
Isaiah Mizell (Ariz) 6% Rostered
- Playoff Match-Up Target
- The Arizona WR room has been devastated by injuries and that has allowed Mizell to rise in the offense. he’s gone from receiving 5 targets/game to 7 targets in each of the last two contests. Last week against West Virginia he exploded for 6 receptions for 183 yards and 3 TD’s. That won’t be the norm moving forward but this Arizona passing game is clicking which will give Mizell more opportunities to shine once he gets through his bye this week.
Oran Singleton (Tuls) 10% Rostered
- Volume Workload Target
- Playoff Match-Up Target
- Over the last three games Singleton is averaging 11 targets/game. His scoring opportunities are low, only scoring a TD last week and he’s only racked up 100+ yards once in the last three games. He’s best suited for full PPR leagues and his playoff match-ups could help round out your WR room if you need help in those weeks.
Josiah Freeman (Fres) 23% Rostered
- Current Week Match-up Target
- Volume Workload Target
- Freeman has been the top WR this year for Fresno State, averaging 8.6 targets/game on the season. The last two weeks have seen his targets increase to 10 in each game. He has only hit 100 yards in a game once this year, and its spotty when he scores a TD. Freeman is still a good WR3/4 option for your starting line-ups despite having a down game last week against Boise State.
Jonathan Stafford (W Ky) 12% Rostered
- Volume Workload Target
- I’ve been waiting all year to find a Western Kentucky WR to breakout and it now looks like Stafford is that guy. over the last two games he has a combined 22 targets and 16 receptions, 180 yards and 1 TD. The only thing that holds him back in my eyes is his remaining schedule which still has a bye and several bad match-ups.
Tight Ends
Cole Keller (JMU) 13% Rostered
- Keller had his best game of the season last week, scoring 18.8 fantasy points from 4 targets for 4 receptions, 108 yards and 1 TD. He’s scored 4 TD’s in the last four games, showing he has a nose for the end zone, but his target volume is very low. This means you’re hoping that he can score a TD on 25% of his targets which is something that’s hard to count on.
