The most important part of the early rounds of your fantasy drafts is to build a solid and reliable core of players. You’re looking for high fantasy floors with low levels of risk. These are the players you’ll count on to carry your CFF team from week to week. Below Joe Arpasi reviews the players he’s willing to hang his hat on and call them “My Guy” for the 2026 season.

Honorable Mentions

Hu QB Weigman

Houston: Conner Weigman

351.8 Fantasy Points In 2025

Weigman was a five star recruit out of high school and ranked the #3 QB nationally in his recruiting class. He originally signed with Texas A&M and spent his first three seasons there. He was unable to break through the glass ceiling of being a back up, never scoring more than 95 fantasy points or throwing more than 132 pass attempts. In 2025 he transferred to Houston and earned the starting QB job. His 351.5 fantasy point performance was the breakout he was looking for. He returns in 2026 along side his top pass catcher from last year WR Amare Thomas. Weigman was just the third QB for head coach Willie Fritz to score 300+ fantasy points. The one thing those QB’s shared in common that other Fritz QB’s did not is running for 10+ rushing TD’s.

MiaFL QB Mensah

Miami (FL): Darian Mensah

322.8 Fantasy Points In 2025

After redshirting his freshman season at Tulane Mensah was elevated to the starter in 2024. After scoring 229 fantasy points he transferred to Duke the next season and improved his fantasy stock, scoring 322.8 fantasy points. That improvement caught the eye of the Hurricane coaching staff and on the last day of the transfer portal Mensah entered and signed with Miami. Under offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson’s watch, four of his last five QB’s have scored 300+ fantasy points, and twice they’ve scored 400+ fantasy points. Those 400 point performances stand out because those QB’s added rushing value to the mix, which Mensah lacks.

Oreg QB Moore

Oregon: Dante Moore

303.8 Fantasy Points In 2025

Moore spent a turbulent freshman season at UCLA where he played in 9 games with mixed results in his play. He made the decision to transfer to Oregon in 2024 and sat behind Dillon Gabriel before winning the starting job in 2025. Last season he produced 305.8 fantasy points and led his team to the college football playoffs. In a surprise move he turned down entering the NFL draft and returned to Oregon for 2026. His fantasy production from last season is the lowest we’ve seen from a QB for head coach Dan Lanning, but Oregon returns a loaded WR core and one of the best TE’s in the country. Moore should undoubtedly increase his fantasy output and be one of the more reliable fantasy QB’s this season.

JMU QB Barnett

UCF: Alonza Barnett

365.2 Fantasy Points In 2025

Barnett’s first two seasons at James Madison brought little playing time as he saw action in only 4 games. 2024 was his first season as the starter and in Week 4 put up 63.3 fantasy points against North Carolina. He went on to score 306 fantasy points that season but in the last regular season game he suffered a leg injury. He wasn’t expected to be cleared at the start of the 2025 season but managed to win back his starting job and go on to score 365.2 fantasy points. He transferred to UCF for 2026 and play under head coach Scott Frost. Going back to 2018 the only Frost QB to score 300+ fantasy points was also the only QB to rush for 10+ rushing TD’s. Barnett scored 15 times on the ground last year, making him a perfect fit for Frost’s offense.
