The most important part of the early rounds of your fantasy drafts is to build a solid and reliable core of players. You’re looking for high fantasy floors with low levels of risk. These are the players you’ll count on to carry your CFF team from week to week. Below Joe Arpasi reviews the players he’s willing to hang his hat on and call them “My Guy” for the 2026 season.
Honorable Mentions
Houston: Amare Thomas
202.5 Fantasy Points In 2025
Thomas made an immediate impact as a freshman at UAB scoring 95 fantasy points from 66 targets for 53 receptions, 440 yards and 3 TD’s. His sophomore season was even better with 147 fantasy points from 94 targets for 62 receptions, 670 yards and 8 TD’s. Riding that waive of success he transferred to Houston last season and scored an additional 55 fantasy points with career highs in targets (99), receptions (66), yards (972), and TD’s (12). He returns in 2026 with starting QB Connor Weigman with high expectations. Thomas’ 2025 production was the best by any WR1 under head coach Willie Fritz, with the next best showing being a 130.3 fantasy points performance in 2022.
Indiana: Nick Marsh
132.8 Fantasy Points In 2025
As a former four star recruit Marsh was one of the most dynamic athletes that Michigan State has signed. He saw playing time right away with 63 targets over 11 games his first year for the Spartans. Last season was his best year there scoring 132.8 fantasy points from 108 targets for 59 receptions, 662 yards and 6 TD’s. While Marsh was extremely gifted, the lack luster Michigan State passing game was holding him back and he jumped into the transfer portal and signed with Indiana this offseason. Indiana is replacing its top two receivers from last season and Marsh was the perfect addition to be the team’s new WR1. Offensive coordinator Mike Shanahan’s WR1 has scored 170+ fantasy points in each of the last four seasons, and scored 210+ fantasy points twice in that time.
LSU: Jayce Brown
137.3 Fantasy Points In 2025
The first three seasons of Brown’s college career were spent at Kansas State. He played in 11 games his freshman season and scored 76 fantasy points, but in his sophomore campaign he scored 136 fantasy points from 47 receptions for 823 yards and 5 TD’s. Last season he just barely topped that with 137.3 fantasy points with the help of 116 rushing yards and 1 rushing TD. He’s a nightmare deep threat for defenses, averaging 17.1 yards per reception on his career. He heads to LSU for 2026 and will likely be the team’s top WR. Head coach Lane Kiffin averages 93 targets a season to his WR1, but the fantasy value is a little diluted with his WR1 never scoring 200 fantasy points or 10 TD’s going back to 2018. Brown’s elite ability to attack deep is best compared to Kiffin’s production from Tre Harris at Ole Miss from 2023-2024.
Mississippi State: Anthony Evans
143.3 Fantasy Points In 2025
Evans signed with Georgia out of high school and despite playing in 18 games over two seasons with the Bulldogs his statistical production was lagging. He made the move to Mississippi State for the 2025 team lead the team in targets, while finishing as the fantasy WR2 on the squad. That was the first time that head coach Jeff Lebby had a slot WR as his WR2 (had always been an outside WR). Lebby has a slight preference for balanced/slot WR roles to be his WR1, which has scored in the range of 160-190 fantasy points every season. With QB Kamario Taylor looking to be on the verge of a breakout 2026, that improved QB play might help push Evans in getting double digit TD’s.
TCU: Jordan Dwyer
142.0 Fantasy Points In 2025
Dwyer began his career at Idaho and in 2025 he transferred to TCU and earned a starting job. He finished the season as the team’s WR2 behind Eric McAlister. McAlister has moved on and Dwyer is poised to step into the WR1 role. Going back to 2018 head coach Sonny Dykes has pumped out fantasy valuable WRs. During this timeframe his WR1 has scored 200+ fantasy points four times, had 80+ targets five times, and scored 10+ TD’s three times. Last Season Dwyer had 84 targets and 7 TDs as the WR2.
